The MicrobrandWatch Movement - Issue 5

This feels like a bit of a milestone month.

Microbrand Watch has been growing steadily, the channel’s starting to take shape, and behind the scenes there’s been a lot of thinking about what this turns into over the next year. Add in a house move and a brand-new recording space, and February already feels like a bit of a reset.

As always, I really appreciate everyone who’s here with me on this journey. You’re the people who found the channel early, subscribed before it was fully formed, and stuck around while I figured things out. That genuinely means a lot.

I’d been waiting a long time to get my hands on the Ubiq Trek.

It’s one of those watches that had been sitting in the back of my mind for ages — partly because I don’t usually gravitate towards field watches, and partly because this one just looked… different. Not safe. Not predictable.

Once it arrived and I actually started wearing it, things clicked very quickly. It’s incredibly light on the wrist, easy to live with day to day, and has a confidence about it that you don’t always get with field watches.

As always, the review is based on real-world wear rather than specs, and this one surprised me. If you haven’t seen the video yet, it’s well worth a watch.
